Oy Panda is So Good

My latest addiction: Panda licorice.
Next time you are at Trader Joes, I highly recommend you pick up a box or two. Four reasons why you should try it, it's all natural, fat free, delicious, and made in Finland.

Happy Easter

We just got back from church. Konrad and I were happy to of found our Easter basket under the front porch ~ too cute.

A couple weeks ago Brendan and I made Ukrainian style Easter eggs at the Alsdorf's house. We've been going over there and making these eggs for three years now. Allison has various books on the method, though I have yet to make an egg like in the books. It's like having a blank canvas and you could put anything on it - why do what the books say? (such a rebel) My goal was to do the four seasons. I completed Spring in 2007, Summer in 2008, and this year I crammed in Fall and Winter.

We plan on making this our own tradition, so next year we'd like to have all the supplies needed. The process is pretty simple, what you create is a whole different story because you need to think backwards, applying your colors from light to dark throughout this layering technique with the hot wax. I found this site, it best describes the process and the supplies if you are interested. What I love is spending the day at a big table full of tools and colors and good friends. It reminds me of those days when I was little, coloring in books and talking about frivolous stuff as the afternoon went by. Ordering pizza is a must too.

Happy Easter!

Aunty Em Comes to Town

Emelia visited us from Boston for two days this week, it was a short and lovely time (the weather couldn't of been more beautiful). Brendan, Emelia, and Konrad tooled around town while I was at work. Fortunately, I was able to get my Emelia time in after work and during lunch. Here are some pictures...

Great Grandfather Douglas

You'll have to excuse my extra-long absence. My Grandfather Douglas passed away on Thursday. Brendan, Konrad, and I were up in West Chester, PA this week visiting him while he was in the hospital. I am very grateful to of spent the time I did with him before he passed away. Here are a few pictures of Grandpa, Ruth, and Konrad on our last visit to see him in October 2008. I'm sad that I only have a few of Grandpa with his great grandson.
