Watching Meine Papi Work
Brendan has been working in the back yard, so far he's rebuilt the retaining wall for our little parking spot. He's now rebuilding the stone wall and also making way for our victory garden. Whenever he works in the backyard, I put Konrad in his highchair and he watches him work - for a good long while too! Amazing. I think I see a future little builder in the making!
Kazuntight!
Ugh, I've been sick for several days with a bad cold. I thought I was doing pretty good by not getting sick in the past year and a half. So I can't complain too much. The Kaiser also is a bit under the weather (not nearly as bad as me, thank goodness), Brendan has been taking care of us for the past 3 days, which has been nice.
My new bike basket came in the mail the other day and Brendan put it on. It's very practical and looks great. Unfortunately, I can only stare at it through the window. I'll post a picture of it here soon.

Bike Baskets
I'm back to riding my bicycle to work and I'm looking for a basket to put my things in. I think it would be smart to find one that goes in the back so it's not in the way and one that isn't wooden - so it'll last. I sure found some real pretty ones in my search...
From Velo Vogue.
Even better, I ran into these great ideas for transporting the Kaiser...these pictures were taken in the Netherlands. I really like the first one below, baby in the front, cargo in the back.

A Bit of Everything

My new favorite blog is A Bit of Everything. -It is full of documented travels by my friend Katie. She and her man Cousin Perry are trampin' around in Singapore for a while. With a keen eye for life and equipped with a great camera, I'm surely getting some fabulous pictures and stories of their adventures. I am officially a new fan of her blog!

Easter Pretty Things
Easter is my favorite holiday and Spring is one of my favorite times of the year. Here are some beautiful Easter and Spring finds ~all the things I love.
One of the many things Easter has me thinking about is hats, this one is from the Hat Shop.
This little cutie is hand made in Germany. You can find him hiding here.
I was delighted to of found one of these fellers hidden in a potted plant in our kitchen last week!
I had never made Easter trees until Brendan showed me.
I will be sure to post my Easter tree in a later post.
I love this idea from Martha Stewart.

This Man Learned German in a Week

This article from Der Spiegel is great. It made me think of my friend Katie who is learning German in Singapore (of all places)! As well as myself... ha I've been "taking" German for over a year now (very slooooowly).
The guy who this article is about, has learned German in one week, which is amazing. Of course, he's only able to do it because he has Asperger's Syndrome, a mild form of autism. What I find most interesting about him is his connections of shapes with the German language, which is explained in the article and it makes perfect sense (at least to me). I love how he describes the German language, "like a clean room with good sharp corners, tidy and straightforward". (Ironically, that is how Brendan and I foresee our dream home)
So, since I don't have your email address, I share this article with you Katie, as well as all the rest out there.

Have Fish Will Travel

God bless Lent and fried fish too! This is the time when Brendan and I make our rounds to Catholic Church fish fries. I highly recommend it. If anyone knows of a good one, please let me know... have fish will travel. Last Friday we went to St. John's (my old high school stompin' grounds) for theirs. The best we've had yet was last year in Pittsburgh at the Epiphany Catholic Church. That place still ranks no. 1! (And thank God it didn't look like the fish pictured above.) You can read about the piece of fish with Jesus on it here.
